EXCELLENCE

Our Education Leadership Team hold graduate degrees in Vocal Performance, with decades of pedagogical experience and every teaching artist has minimally a Bachelor’s degree. We hire artists that represent a broad racial diaspora and have relevant performance experiences that shape their teaching. Students receive exceptional instruction from teachers to whom they feel connected.

IMPACT

Our theory of change has two primary objectives:

To provide equitable access to training, regardless of financial means, we create a diverse and inclusive professional arts landscape for future generations.

To further positive social-emotional outcomes for every educational program. We analyze student data and measure success to understand the impact of our educational programs. In 2022, over 90% of participants reported positive changes in confidence, with 100% affirming they would participate in a future CFVA Educational program.

INCLUSIVITY

CFVA Education is a recognized community leader in creating nurturing and inclusive spaces. Students stay with us for years of their artistic journey, starting as tentative beginners and leaving us as well-prepared pre-professionals.

EQUITY

The cost of music lessons is a barrier for countless children. If a student IS able to afford music lessons, transportation can pose another barrier to access. For this reason, we offer classes at community partner locations where students are already receiving services. We work to creatively problem solve all challenges to ensure no students are excluded from opportunities with CFVA.

In 2022, over 75% of students who participated in our music education programs reported financial need, with over 50 Summer Institute and private scholarships awarded.
