This personal/imaginative narrative/Creative Writing residency relates to the curriculum in the following ways: 1) it teaches the use of describing words in written expression; 2) it models the use of different kinds of sentences; 3) it teaches students how to write a creative narrative story; 4) it encourages the personal interpretation of the expressive qualities of art; 5) it teaches students how to draw concepts and ideas from other subjects; 6) It uses culture and environment as inspiration for creating art; 7) it uses real and imaginary subject matter in works of art

Program Objectives: 1) Students will be presented with an easy-to-remember method for writing creative and personal narrative stories; 2) Students will be given a solid theoretical understanding of creative writing: character (who), location (setting), action (what) and problem (why). 3) Students will be taught to create and visualize dramatic situations to use as ideas for writing.
